Renihan Refrigeration is one of Ireland’s leading engineering firms that specialise in the installation and maintenance of industrial air conditioning systems for offices, warehouses, factories, and agri-businesses.
When a customer contacts us, they know they will always be talking to somebody who is an engineer and who can get them sorted out as quickly and professionally as possible.
Some of the main types of industrial air conditioning system are:
Split systems: These are the most common and affordable type of industrial air conditioning systems. They consist of two units: an indoor unit that contains the evaporator and the fan, and an outdoor unit that contains the compressor and the condenser. The two units are connected by pipes that carry the refrigerant between them.
Rooftop systems: These are a compact and modular type of system that is installed on the roof of the premises. They contain all the components of a split system in one unit, and they are connected to the indoor spaces by ductwork that distributes the conditioned air. Rooftop systems can cool or heat multiple rooms or zones in the premises, and they can also incorporate ventilation and filtration features.
Water-cooled systems: These are an efficient and environmentally friendly type of system that uses water as the cooling medium instead of air. They consist of a water-cooled condenser that is connected to a cooling tower or a water source, and an indoor unit that contains the evaporator and the fan. The water-cooled condenser transfers the heat from the refrigerant to the water, and the water is then circulated to the cooling tower or water source, where it is cooled and returned to the condenser.
Evaporative systems: These are a simple and low-cost type of system that uses the natural process of evaporation to cool the air. They consist of a fan that draws the outside air through a wetted pad or a spray of water, and ductwork that distributes the cooled air to the indoor spaces. Evaporative systems can cool the air by up to 15°C, depending on the humidity and temperature of the outside air.
